You do not have to own a Canaan Dog to become a member!
Full Membership has an annual subscription fee which goes towards the running of the society, paying for its newsletters, seminars, rallys and other events and matters concerning preserving and promoting the Canaan Dog. Members receive a regular, informative newsletter and news bulletins, have discounts on society events, have access to the society's archives and the members' area on the website, can vote on all matters concerning the society and have their say in what they want from the society. The British Canaan Dog Society (proposed) is a non-profit organisation for all those interested in the breed known as the Canaan Dog (or Kelef K'naani as it is said in Hebrew). The Society was established to promote the interests of the Breed and to ensure adherence to type as stated in the Breed Standard.
The British Canaan Dog Society will...
- keep all members fully informed on all matters concerning the society and Canaan Dogs
- produce informative newsletters and bulletins that are sent out regularly throughout the year
- keep records and archives that are always available to members
- keep their web site informative and up-to-date
- LISTEN to their members, taking on board your comments, and treating you all equally and fairly
- adhere to the Society's and The Kennel Club's Rules
- educate judges to the official Kennel Club breed standard.
